Inventory Control Clerk

 Job Summary

Responsible for performing daily and weekly inventory tasks to ensure the accuracy of our perpetual inventory as well as all necessary tasks to ensure product quality which includes compiling records and reports concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.

 Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain company certification for operation of motorized equipment. 
Essential duties and responbilities include the following
  • Compiles stock control records and information such as quantities on hand, purchase orders pending putaway, dock reports, catch weights, and characteristics of items in storage.
  • Monitor inventory transaction processes and recommend policies that will improve efficiencies, ensure a high level of inventory accuracy and promote overall inventory optimum levels under the direction of the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Researches and resolves any discrepancies in reported vs actual inventory stock.  Investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root causes of inventory issues and implement corrective actions and/or coordinate the joint efforts of responsible parties as needed.
  • Performs inventory control procedures, as outlined in attached, in a timely, accurate and satisfactory manner.
  • Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock
