Cheese Specialist/Trainer

DPI Specialty Foods, a market leader in the food distribution industry, currently has an opening for an experienced Cheese Specialist/Trainer.

This position is responsible for training DPI employees and their customers on the basics of cheese to help increase their knowledge and ability to sell the product. This person would put together cheese training seminars focusing on all different varieties of cheese, the history of cheese, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising cheese. Would learn the basics of all major accounts and their specific philosophies as it relates to cheese and their vision of what they want their stores to focus on.

This position would also be directly responsible for specific accounts as determined by the Director of Perishables and the General Manager of Sales and Marketing. This would include selling new items, managing budgets, ads, promos, SANS commitments and inventory.
 

• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of cheese including imported, artisan, and domestic
• Must be knowledgeable in the proper cutting, wrapping, and merchandising of cheese
• Experience in the grocery industry (especially service deli)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to work independently of others
• Capable of public speaking
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
